An online personality, Oyemykke, has pledged his support to assist influencer VeryDarkMan in recovering ₦180 million, which was allegedly stolen from his NGO’s website. This comes after VeryDarkMan revealed that his organization had suffered a cyberattack, leading to the theft of the funds.
Oyemykke expressed his willingness to intervene in a video that has since gone viral on X, formerly known as Twitter. In the video, he called on VeryDarkMan to provide critical information about the incident, including the name of the bank involved and details about the apprehended suspect, to facilitate the recovery process.
This development follows VeryDarkMan’s initial claim that hackers had breached his NGO’s website and stolen ₦180 million intended for public projects. His revelation sparked heated discussions online, with some individuals questioning the legitimacy of the claim and others demanding transparency about the situation.
Reacting to the controversy, Oyemykke, a notable Instagram personality, released a video questioning the level of security measures in place on the NGO’s website and the plausibility of hackers accessing such a large sum of money. He raised concerns about how the alleged hacking incident occurred, noting that a thorough investigation was necessary to clarify the situation.
In his video, Oyemykke emphasized his readiness to help recover the funds and called for transparency from VeryDarkMan. He urged him to reveal the name of the bank that facilitated the transactions and explain how the hacker was able to move such a significant amount of money. Oyemykke also insisted that the apprehended suspect should be publicly identified to ensure accountability.
“The money belongs to the public, and it must be returned,” Oyemykke stated, expressing his frustration over the incident. He added, “This apprehended suspect—we need to see his face. He stole public funds, and the public needs to show him that such acts will not be tolerated.”
He further vowed to take over the case from VeryDarkMan if necessary, saying, “We’re going to take over the case from you, and I promise all stolen funds will be returned to your NGO. This money was meant for public use, and justice must prevail.”
