Ossai Ovie Success, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has publicly expressed disappointment in controversial singer Korra Obidi and dancer Janemena for their choice of outfits and behavior during a recent nightclub outing. In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ossai condemned both personalities, calling their actions and dressing "unacceptable."
In his post, Ossai particularly emphasized the roles of Korra Obidi as a single mother and Janemena as a married woman, suggesting that they should serve as better role models to the public, especially the younger generation. He wrote, "Their dressing and behavior in the video is unacceptable. As a married woman and a single mother, respectively, they should be setting a better example."
Ossai further added that being a content creator should not mean compromising one's values or promoting negativity. He emphasized that content creation should be used as a platform for positive impact rather than perpetuating harmful behavior, stating, “Being a content creator shouldn’t mean compromising one’s values or promoting negativity. Content creation should be about making a positive impact on society, not perpetuating harmful behavior.”
The SSA expressed concern about the influence such actions could have on their followers, particularly the younger audience who may look up to them, and called for influencers to be held to a higher standard. “We need to hold our influencers to a higher standard and promote positivity in our society,” he added, urging influencers to be more responsible in their public conduct.
The post quickly gained traction and sparked mixed reactions online, with some users supporting Ossai’s stance on setting positive examples and holding influencers accountable, while others defended Korra Obidi and Janemena, claiming they have the right to make their own personal choices regarding their appearance and lifestyle. Some even argued that social media personalities should not be held to unrealistic expectations when it comes to their personal lives.
It’s also worth noting that Korra Obidi, who is a mother of two children, has gone through a very public divorce from her husband following a viral social media feud that lasted for several months. Despite the challenges, she continues to make a name for herself as a content creator. On the other hand, Janemena, who is married, has built a following through her dance videos and other content.
