An old video of popular online personality VeryDarkMan has recently resurfaced, sparking widespread discussion amid allegations of theft involving ₦180 million contributed by the public to support his NGO.
The video, which has been circulating widely on various social media platforms, including X (formerly known as Twitter), has reignited debates about his integrity and intentions.
According to VeryDarkMan, ₦180 million out of the ₦200 million hosted on the NGO’s website was allegedly stolen by hackers in what he described as a targeted cyber-attack. He made this revelation in a statement intended to clarify the situation.
However, this explanation has been met with skepticism from both the public and notable figures, with some outrightly dismissing his claims as implausible.
In the wake of these developments, VeryDarkMan has been the subject of accusations of theft and fraud. Notably, Nigerian singer Portable accused him of theft, while online personality Oba Solomon raised allegations of fraudulent activity against him.
As the controversy continues to unfold, an old video clip of VeryDarkMan defending his integrity has emerged. In the video, he passionately asserts his honesty and moral standing, firmly denying any involvement in fraudulent activities or theft.
In the resurfaced clip, he stated: “In this country, I’ll show you all who I am. I’m a man of integrity; my mother didn’t raise a thief. My mother didn’t raise me to take advantage of people. I am not like that.”
He went on to emphasize his disinterest in material wealth, stating that he had overcome any thirst for money long ago. VeryDarkMan reiterated that he has reached a stage in life where his principles and moral values cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
The video has sparked mixed reactions among social media users. While some have expressed support for VeryDarkMan, citing the old video as evidence of his genuine character, others remain skeptical, urging him to provide concrete evidence to clear his name.
As the controversy gains momentum, the public continues to await further clarifications regarding the alleged theft of funds and the authenticity of VeryDarkMan’s claims.
