Nigerian comedian, Mr. Macaroni, has expressed his concern over the recent threats made by MC Oluomo, the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee and a known supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against Igbo voters ahead of the governorship and house of assembly elections in Lagos on Saturday.
During a meeting with a group of people, MC Olumo warned Igbos who plan to vote for parties other than the APC to stay at home on election day. "Iya Chukwudi, if you know you no wan vote for us, siddon for your house o," he said in part.[/b]
Mr. Macaroni took to his Twitter handle to condemn the threats made by MC Oluomo, stating that threatening and intimidating voters is unlawful and should be condemned by all. He also shared a video of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police asking residents of the state to hold him accountable and responsible for the safety and protection of voters.[/b]
In his tweet, Mr. Macaroni called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to take action and ensure that voters are able to cast their ballots in peace, without fear of intimidation or violence. "The people have every right to vote for any candidate of their choice. Let the people vote in peace!!! Threatening and intimidating voters is unlawful and should be condemned by all. We say No To Violence!!!" he wrote.[/b]
