The mother of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad has opened up regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the DNA test involving her son’s wife, Omowunmi, and Mr. Joseph Aloba. This issue has sparked intense discussions and public attention, especially with regard to the DNA test of Liam Light, Mohbad's only child, which has been delayed for more than a year following the singer's tragic death.
In a recent viral video statement, the late singer's mother expressed her frustration, claiming that Mohbad's father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, is the primary person responsible for stalling the crucial DNA test. However, she refrained from disclosing the specific reasons behind the delay. Despite this, she strongly emphasized that the DNA test is essential, although she remains confident that Liam Light is her biological grandson. She stated, "Jossy is the one delaying the DNA. We are ready for the DNA. Wunmi must do the DNA because of Liam. I know he is my grandchild."
Addressing Mohbad’s Brother Adura’s Issue with Yomi Fabiyi
In addition to discussing the DNA test, Mohbad’s mother also spoke about a recent issue involving her son’s brother, Adura, and Nigerian actor Yomi Fabiyi. She defended her son Adura, asserting that he was innocent in the matter. She explained that Adura had sold his phone to a friend and had not been involved in any impersonation or misleading statements regarding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death.
The late singer’s mother explained, “Concerning the person that chatted Yomi Fabiyi, it was Damola who told Yomi that he knew what killed Mohbad. Adura arrested Damola, and I went to the police station to ask him what my offense was and why he impersonated my son, Adura. He didn’t say anything meaningful.”
She further revealed that she had previously warned Adura to distance himself from the people who had surrounded Mohbad before his untimely passing. According to her, these individuals were with Mohbad until his death, which added to her concern. She explained that Adura now lives alone in Lekki, and she visits him regularly. The police case was eventually transferred from Ogombo Police Station to Ikeja, reflecting the seriousness of the matter.
The late singer’s mother went on to accuse Yomi Fabiyi of allegedly manipulating the situation and attempting to frame Adura in the case. She claimed that Damola had confessed to regretting his actions and that Yomi Fabiyi had instructed him to implicate Adura in order to avoid facing legal consequences himself. "Yomi Fabiyi knew that it was not Adura who chatted him, yet he is trying to shift the blame. All the curses people placed on Adura will go to Yomi’s children. I had two sons, and you have killed one. Nobody is mentioning Naira Marley or Sam Larry again,” she added passionately.
