Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad, has stirred up controversy with his latest statement regarding the singer’s land purchase for his son, Liam.
This development follows a major court ruling as the magistrate court in Yaba dismissed all charges against Mohbad’s former record label boss, Naira Marley, along with Sammy Larry and Prime Boy. The three individuals had previously been accused of having an alleged involvement in the tragic death of the singer on September 24, 2023.
Despite numerous court sessions and police investigations, the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing remain uncertain, and his body has not yet been laid to rest, fueling ongoing discussions about the case.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the court’s decision, Joseph Aloba has broken his silence with fresh claims regarding his late son’s real estate decisions.
During a recent TikTok live session, Joseph Aloba revealed that before his passing, Mohbad had informed him about purchasing two plots of land in Elepe in his son Liam’s name.

However, Mohbad’s father questioned this decision, stating that he never personally bought any property in his son’s name, so he could not understand why Mohbad would do so for his own child.
He said, “I never bought anything in his name, why will he buy properties in his son’s name?”
This statement has triggered mixed reactions online, with many criticizing his perspective. See some reactions below:
Chukwuma Chinelo remarked: “Do you have any money to buy properties, let alone buy them in Mohbad’s name? Keep quiet, Mr. Man.”
Temi Dayo emphasized: “This man needs to be checked… Is he okay at all? What’s wrong with buying property in your son’s name? First of all, abeg remove that white garment; you are a shame to us.”
Adeniyi Ogbolu wrote: “People can now see that this man is fighting for properties, not justice. God, please don’t let me become this kind of father, in Jesus’ name.”
Olawale Micheal added: “Is this man on something? He needs to listen to himself and hear the nonsense he’s saying.”
