In the Best International Act category, Ayra Starr faced fierce competition from a lineup of global superstars, including Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Tems, and Latto. During her acceptance speech, an overwhelmed and emotional Ayra Starr expressed her excitement and gratitude. Still in shock at her historic win, she took the stage to address the audience with heartfelt words:
“Okay, this is my first MOBO. And this is the first time I’m winning a MOBO Award—make some noise! I am actually shaking right now. I am actually nervous.”
