Nigerian Afropop singer Akinmayokun Awodumila, known as May D, has revealed why he didn’t have a bank account while working with P-Square.
Mr May D, who has been in the headlines for several days due to various issues, shared some of the poor treatment he received while working under Square Records, the record label owned by the twin artists, P-Square.
In an interview with Chude on the Honest Bunch podcast, May D disclosed that despite being signed to the popular record label, he was so financially strained that he couldn't afford to open a bank account during the four years he worked with P-Square.
May D explained, “For the four years I was with P-Square, I didn’t have a bank account. It’s only when someone has money that he opens an account.” This statement reflects the tough conditions he endured despite being signed to a major label at the time. He emphasized the disparity between his financial struggles and the success of the record label he was working under.
