Retired actress Dalyce Curry, celebrated for her iconic roles in classic films such as *The Blues Brothers*, *The Ten Commandments*, and *Lady Sings the Blues*, has tragically passed away due to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. According to a report by Forbes on Monday, Dalyce Curry was 95 years old at the time of her death.

Authorities have confirmed that Curry’s remains were found at her burned-down home in Altadena, California, after the devastating wildfires ravaged the area. The discovery came after several days of uncertainty about her whereabouts. Dalyce Curry’s great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, revealed that she last saw her great-grandmother on the evening of January 7, when she dropped her off at home. The following morning, Kelley tried to check on her, but she was unable to pass the police barricades that had been set up near the area of the fire. Concerned, the family then searched for Curry at the Pasadena Civic Centre, a shelter that had been set up for displaced residents, but they could not find her there either.

It was only a few days later that officials confirmed the devastating news that Curry’s remains had been discovered at her destroyed property. “About an hour ago, the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE,” Kelley wrote on Facebook on Sunday, January 12. In her emotional tribute, Kelley added, “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”

Curry’s granddaughter, Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, also spoke about her grandmother’s remarkable vitality, noting, “She was very active. You wouldn’t think she was 95.” Curry, who had been active in her career and personal life even in her later years, left behind a legacy in Hollywood and the lives she touched. Her passing has been mourned by her family and fans alike.

Dalyce Curry’s tragic death is among at least 24 fatalities that have been reported in the Los Angeles area due to the ongoing wildfires, which have wreaked havoc across the region, claiming numerous lives and destroying homes and properties. Her passing adds to the growing toll of victims as the wildfires continue to devastate communities in California.
