Popular lifestyle and beauty influencer Layefa Ebitonmo has shared details about her decision to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in 2022, revealing that the procedure cost her approximately N2.1 million.
In a candid video posted on her YouTube channel, Layefa Ebitonmo discussed her journey, shedding light on the reasons behind her choice, the recovery process, and some misconceptions people have about the surgery.
According to her, she was determined to go through with the BBL regardless of anyone’s opinion, emphasizing that it was a personal decision that she made for herself. She made it clear that she was not influenced by societal pressure or external validation.
“I didn’t mind if my family didn’t want me to do it. It is something I wanted to do for myself, and I did it. It’s my decision. Am I a child?” she boldly stated in her video.
Layefa also shared an emotional moment about how her mother reacted when she saw the aftermath of the surgery. She narrated how her mother, despite initially being against the procedure, constantly checked on her while she was in the hospital.
“My mum used to call every day in the hospital. Every two seconds, she would ask, ‘Is she okay?’ When she called me and saw blood on my neck, she screamed ‘Jesus! I am coming to Lagos now.’”
Addressing some of the common myths about BBL surgery, Layefa debunked the notion that women who undergo the procedure cannot conceive or have children. She reassured her viewers that she had thoroughly researched the matter before making her decision.
“It’s a misconception that one won’t be able to have a child after doing BBL. That is the one thing I can say I researched.”
Her revelations have sparked mixed reactions online, with some people praising her honesty while others continue to debate the risks and benefits of cosmetic surgery.
