Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji [/b]has opened up about why he initially denied an alleged romantic relationship with actress Mo Bimpe and how he eventually proposed to her. During the interview, Lateef Adedimeji revealed that he proposed to his wife over the phone, an unconventional method that took her by surprise. He explained that when he first called Mo Bimpe to propose, she didn’t take him seriously. According to Lateef, Mo Bimpe responded to his proposal with humor, expressing disbelief and even joking about the idea of marrying a Muslim. She made it clear that her father would never approve, as she was concerned about the religious barrier that stood between them.
However, Lateef was determined to marry Mo Bimpe, and he decided to take the next step by meeting with her father to seek his approval. He explained that he arranged a trip to her village during one of their masquerade festivals to speak directly with her father and ask for her hand in marriage. Lateef shared that he reassured her father that he would take good care of his daughter, and after some consideration, her father agreed to the proposal and said he would pray about it before giving his final blessing.
Lateef also clarified some misunderstandings surrounding the timeline of his relationship with Mo Bimpe. He addressed the rumors that the couple had been dating for a much longer period before getting married. In reality, Lateef revealed that they had been in a relationship for only about two to three months before they tied the knot, which was much shorter than many people assumed. This shorter timeline, he explained, was the reason why he initially denied the rumors about their romance, as it hadn’t been long before they decided to get married.
