Renowned Nigerian Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as Kwam1 or K1 De Ultimate, has announced the heartbreaking news of the passing of his mother, Halima Anifowoshe, at the age of 105. This loss has left many in the entertainment and music industry shocked and saddened, as the Fuji legend mourns the departure of his beloved mother.
The Fuji star shared the tragic news with his fans on Saturday, posting a photo of himself alongside his late mother on his social media platforms. He captioned the image with a heartfelt message, saying: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi Raji’un. RIP Mama.” The message, which is an Islamic phrase, translates to “Indeed, to Allah we belong, and indeed, to Him we will return,” a reflection of his grief and acceptance of her passing in accordance with Islamic tradition.
This tragedy follows closely after Kwam1’s devastating loss of one of his wives, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, who passed away earlier in the week on Tuesday due to an undisclosed illness. Alhaja Hafsat was laid to rest the same day at Abari Cemetery in Lagos, where she was buried according to Islamic rites. The loss of both his mother and wife in such a short time has deeply impacted the Fuji musician and his family, prompting an outpouring of sympathy from fans and well-wishers.
In a show of support and solidarity, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LIELCDA) extended heartfelt condolences to Kwam1 and his family. The statement conveyed to Kwam1 read: “We know it hurts so deeply to lose a loving mother and dependable partner. We wish we could find enough words to comfort you at this moment. However, we want you to take solace in the time your mother spent on earth and her good service to God and humanity.”
The statement further praised Halima Anifowoshe as an “excellent woman, affectionate mother, and dutiful parent,” highlighting how deeply she was loved by all who knew her. “Rest assured that our thoughts are with you, and our prayers are that you, the children, and all those she left behind will find the strength to continue where she stopped. May her soul find eternal rest,” the message concluded, offering strength and support to the grieving family during this difficult time.
