MC Oluomo’s son, King West, has made a controversial remark on social media after the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) declaration of Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 Presidential election. King West, who previously revealed that the Labour Party had no chance in the election and that the seat belongs to Bola Tinubu, spoke again. This time, he boasted about owning Lagos and controlling Nigeria, now that Tinubu has emerged victorious.
Furthermore, he predicts that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the current governor of Lagos state, will be re-elected for a second term, regardless of the number of votes. He emphasized that there will be no promotion or gimmicks during the governorship elections. He also made a sarcastic remark, calling out those who attended Tunde Ednut's School of Politics and choosing to remain ignorant of the fact that politics is not for the faint-hearted.
In his closing remarks, King West described the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, as a "boy" and asserted that he is even smarter than him. His statement has sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing their dissatisfaction with his declaration.
The pictures attached to the post show King West posing with Bola Tinubu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, further solidifying his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) party. However, his controversial remarks have drawn criticism from some individuals who believe that politics should not be characterized by arrogance and disrespect for opponents.
Regardless, King West's statement highlights the influence and power wielded by political figures and their associates in Nigeria. It also sheds light on the contentious nature of Nigerian politics, where loyalty to one's political party and leader often trumps political ideology and public service.
