Nollywood actor, John Amaefule, has been hospitalized following a stroke, leading to an outpouring of concern from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers in the entertainment industry.
The news of his sudden health crisis was made public by Stanley Okereke, a well-known Nollywood producer, who took to Instagram to share the unfortunate development and seek urgent assistance on behalf of the actor and his family.
According to Stanley Ontop, John Amaefule suffered a stroke that affected the left side of his brain, which has resulted in significant health complications. He is currently receiving medical care at FMC Owerri, where doctors are assessing his condition and recommending further tests and treatments.
In light of this, Stanley has called on the public, particularly members of the Nollywood industry, to come together and offer financial support to help cover the cost of essential medical examinations and treatments that could improve the actor’s chances of recovery.
Stanley Okereke wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post, “Nollywood Veteran Actor John Amaefule was rushed to the hospital this morning in Owerri after suffering from a stroke. He is currently at FMC Owerri and in urgent need of financial assistance for medical tests and treatment.”
He continued, “He is suffering from a stroke, and his family is pleading with Nigerians to assist in any way possible 🙏🙏. The doctors have advised that several tests, including a Lipid panel test, Hemoglobin A1c test, and Electrolyte Urea and Creatinine test, need to be conducted to properly assess his condition.”
Stanley further disclosed that the actor requires immediate medications, including cholesterol-lowering drugs such as atorvastatin, and blood pressure medications like losartan or hydrochlorothiazide. Additionally, he may need medications to manage diabetes if he is diagnosed with the condition. Blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin and clopidogrel have also been recommended to improve his condition.
Appealing to fellow Nollywood actors and the general public, Stanley urged everyone to share the news widely to garner as much support as possible. “Please, I want everyone in Nollywood to repost this 🙏🙏. Let’s come together and save a life,” he pleaded.
