It is worth recalling that the singer passed away on September 12, 2023, under mysterious and highly controversial circumstances that remain unresolved as investigations continue. His sudden death has left his fans, friends, and the Nigerian public seeking answers, and this has led to a wave of online speculations and rumors, with some netizens raising suspicions about Omowunmi’s involvement in his death.

In the midst of this emotional and complex situation, Iyabo Ojo has spoken out, expressing her disapproval of the accusations leveled against Omowunmi and her determination to offer support to Mohbad’s widow. Ojo emphasized that she would continue to stand firmly by Omowunmi unless a court of law, backed by credible evidence, finds her guilty. Her support, she explained, is based on the principle that individuals are innocent until proven guilty, and she urged the public to adopt a more cautious and evidence-based approach.

During a candid Instagram Live session, Iyabo Ojo addressed the rumors circulating on social media, condemning those who have engaged in spreading unsubstantiated claims about Omowunmi’s alleged involvement in her husband’s death. She criticized the trend of social media trials, challenging those who have concrete evidence to come forward and present it to the appropriate authorities rather than fueling public speculation and casting blame without substantial proof.

In her statement, Iyabo Ojo noted, “A lot of people are angry that I’m supporting Wunmi. There is no concrete evidence that she is guilty. Until the law proves her guilty, I will continue to support her. If they like, they should drag and curse me. I will not stop being nice to her. Until the judge says otherwise with evidence, proof beyond every reasonable doubt.”

Furthermore, Ojo advised anyone who claims to have credible information regarding Mohbad's death to take their evidence to the proper authorities. She reiterated her stance against social media judgments, reminding her followers that Nigeria has laws in place to handle such matters and that justice should be sought through lawful channels rather than through online accusations and hearsay.
