Popular Nigerian footballer, Odion Jude Ighalo, has opened up about his unwavering commitment to tithing since 2005. He revealed that since he first learned about tithing from his pastor, he has remained consistent in giving a portion of his earnings to God.
During an interview with Rasheedat Ajibade on Ash Christ TV, the football star shared that his journey with tithing began in 2005 when he received his first salary as a professional footballer. He recounted how his pastor’s teachings on tithing influenced him to start giving, and to this day, he has never failed to pay his tithe.
“My first salary as a footballer was in 2005, and it was N15,000. Because my pastor taught me about tithing, I made a commitment to start paying my tithe. Since then, I have remained faithful and have never missed it,” Jude Ighalo stated.
He went on to describe the internal struggle he faced when he received his first salary. According to him, he heard discouraging voices telling him not to pay his tithe from the N15,000 he earned, but he chose to remain faithful to the principle.
“If you can be faithful with little, you will be faithful with any amount that comes your way,” he added, emphasizing the importance of consistency and discipline in financial matters.
