Nollywood actress Ini Edo has shared her deeply personal struggles with childbirth, revealing that she has experienced over six miscarriages throughout her journey to parenthood.
In a heartfelt conversation during a recent appearance on the reality show “Young, Famous and African,” the 42-year-old mother of one opened up about the difficult path she’s walked in her pursuit of having a child.
Ini Edo revealed that she had gotten married at the age of 26, with a plan to complete her childbearing by 31, retire from that aspect of her life, and dedicate herself to her flourishing career. However, as she confessed, life had other plans for her. She disclosed that she suffered over six miscarriages, underwent IVF procedures, and faced pregnancy losses midway through her attempts to become a mother.
She candidly shared, saying, “I got married at the age of 26 because I thought that by 31, I would have been done with childbearing, retired, and focused on my career, but life didn’t go that way. I tried. I have had over six miscarriages. It wasn’t an easy journey for me. I’ve done IVF. I’ve lost pregnancies midway. I know what I’ve dealt with as a woman.”
