Teni [/b]disclosed that her initiation into smoking or consuming alcohol [/b]only occurred in 2021, despite being a part of the music industry for several years.
This surprising revelation unfolded during a recent episode of the widely acclaimed Zero Conditions Podcast, where Teni politely declined a host's offer of a drink.
In response to the host's intrigued query, she clarified that quitting drinking wasn't a challenge for her because she had only started the practice in 2021.
The host, visibly taken aback, probed Teni to share the story of how she embarked on this newfound journey.
Reflecting on her journey, Teni stated:
“I commenced drinking in 2021. I'm inherently adventurous. Despite six years in this industry, I refrained from drinking or smoking. The first instance was in Lagos, where, observing everyone getting intoxicated, I thought, 'What does it feel like? Let me give it a try.' So, I opted for Henny, but surprisingly, I didn't get intoxicated. Anticipating the effects, I waited, but it never transpired, so I simply went to sleep. The reaction was like, 'Aaah, Teni.'”
Teni went on to reveal that she successfully resisted the persistent pressure to indulge in alcohol even while studying at the University of Georgia in the United States.
“I refrained from drinking during my time in school. Do you know the school I attended? The University of Georgia, renowned for its football culture, exerted substantial pressure to partake in drinking, but I remained steadfast. I only engage in activities that align with my preferences. Whenever you see me holding a cup in videos or skits, it's typically filled with juice or water,” the singer added.
