The Honest Bunch podcast team has officially denied allegations made by Ugo Nwokolo, also known as Mr. Nigeria, claiming that Nedu Wazobia manipulated him into stating that he is attracted to poor girls during his appearance on the podcast.
Weeks ago, during an episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Ugo Nwokolo openly admitted that he has a preference for dating women from lower financial backgrounds. His remarks quickly became a trending topic on social media, sparking widespread discussions and debates among netizens.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Ugo Nwokolo later took to social media to allege that his statement was not voluntary. He claimed that the show’s host, Nedu Wazobia, manipulated him into making the controversial comment about his dating preferences. According to Ugo, he was allegedly guided and influenced by the OAP into saying that he is into "broke girls."
The Honest Bunch podcast team has now come forward to refute these claims, categorically stating that Ugo Nwokolo was never coerced, manipulated, or pressured into making any statement. The team emphasized that he had full control over his words and actively participated in shaping the conversation on the podcast.
Furthermore, they clarified that before appearing on the podcast, Ugo Nwokolo arrived with his own pre-planned topics and discussion points, suggesting that he was well-prepared and aware of what he intended to say.
In an official statement released by the Honest Bunch team, they provided further clarification on the issue:
“We have become aware of recent claims made by Ugo Nwokolo regarding his appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast. For the sake of clarity, we would like to set the record straight. Mr. Ugo Nwokolo appeared on our platform for a paid appearance, during which he had the freedom to select a topic of his choice—which he did. At no point did we suggest a specific topic to him, nor was he instructed on what to say, either as a team or individually.
Furthermore, he was never pressured to discuss any particular issue. He arrived with a notepad outlining his points. We are truly shocked that someone who lacks integrity and dignity—willing to spread falsehoods for fame—has been crowned by the prestigious Mr. World Nigeria. It is concerning to think that this individual is now set to represent us on the global stage.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to transparency and value the diversity of opinions expressed on our platform, regardless of our personal views. We kindly ask that the institution and the Silverbird Group look into the character of this man.”
The statement strongly implies that Ugo Nwokolo’s allegations are false and attempts to tarnish the podcast’s reputation. The podcast team further urged the public to be cautious about taking such claims at face value.
