Self-acclaimed financial expert, GehGeh, recently opened up about his experience on the Honest Bunch Podcast, aiming to shed light on some of the misconceptions and internal dynamics of the show. GehGeh's revelations come amid an escalating public dispute between social media critic VeryDarkMan and comedian DeeOne. DeeOne’s accusations resulted in a series of heated exchanges between the two, intensifying the controversy surrounding the Honest Bunch Podcast.
In his discussion, GehGeh made several startling observations about the podcast, revealing details that had been kept private until now. One of his biggest revelations was that Nedu Wazobia, a prominent figure on the podcast, was not the owner but merely contracted to host the show. GehGeh further explained that Nedu's departure from the podcast was not voluntary, as he was, in fact, sacked, and the real owner of the podcast was one of the camera crew members present during his interview.
GehGeh used the opportunity to offer some valuable business advice, suggesting that brand owners should be cautious about associating their businesses with one individual for a prolonged period. He compared this to BBNaija's long-term reliance on Ebuka as a host, which, in his view, could lead to problems in the future. Furthermore, GehGeh addressed the ongoing rumors about the podcast’s scripted nature, vehemently denying these claims. He stated that the Honest Bunch Podcast thrives on controversy and sensationalism, capitalizing on negative topics and provocative questions. According to GehGeh, this formula is preferred by the average Nigerian audience, who are often more interested in sensational content than in well-researched, quality information.
In addition, GehGeh offered advice to Kokopee, warning him to avoid getting too close to VeryDarkMan. He cautioned that VeryDarkMan follows a ‘no permanent friend or enemy’ approach, meaning that anything shared with him could be used against someone in future disputes. GehGeh’s remarks sparked further discussion on the nature of personal relationships in the media industry and the consequences of sharing too much personal information with others in the public sphere.
GehGeh’s observation about the Honest Bunch Podcast
“When I go that podcast, I see wetin shock me and I wan expose that thing. When I went there, I observed Nedu wasn’t the owner of the podcast; he was on contract. He didn’t resign, he was sacked! That day I was interviewed, the owner of the podcast was one of the camera crew.
“He only employed Nedu to work there. This is why I tell business owners not to associate their brand with one person for a long time. This is the same thing BBNaija is doing with Ebuka. To everyone saying Honest Bunch Podcast is scripted, it is a lie.
“Honest Bunch podcast capitalizes on negativity, and controversy and focuses on stupid questions because an average Nigerian is not interested in quality information. My advice to Kokopee na to avoid VeryDarkMan because he practices, ‘no permanent friend and enemy’. Whenever you have issues with him, he would use everything you’ve told him against you.”
