Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry, is currently mourning the loss of 33-year-old actress Gbemi Anjola, who passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Her death has come as a shock to her fans and colleagues, who are devastated by the news.
According to reports, Gbemi was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021 and immediately began her battle against the disease. She traveled to Dubai, UAE, for chemotherapy, which lasted for approximately six months. After receiving medical treatment in Dubai, Gbemi returned to Nigeria cancer-free.
However, on Friday, March 25, 2023, Gbemi complained of memory loss and a headache and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, she was pronounced dead by the doctors on duty. Her death has left the Nigerian film industry in shock and mourning.
Gbemi Anjola was a fast-rising actress in Nollywood, having starred in several movies and TV series. Her talent and dedication to her craft were evident in her performances, and she had a promising career ahead of her.
