Nollywood actor, Freddie Leonard, has expressed his reaction after an internet fraudster was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for using his identity to scam people. The suspect, identified as Kelvin Aisosa Orhue, was caught and charged before the FCT High Court in Kuje after he duped a lady named Cheryldene Cook of N104 million using Freddie Leonard's identity.
During his trial before Justice Nwechonwu, Orhue pleaded guilty to the charge and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to one year imprisonment with an option of paying a fine of N1, 000,000 (one million Naira) only.
Reacting to the arrest via his Instagram page, Freddie Leonard described women who fall for such scams as desperate. He wondered how people could transfer such a huge amount of money to someone they have never met physically.
