On Saturday, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, responded to inquiries about the matter, confirming that the police are not aware of any fraud investigation related to VDM’s NGO. According to Adeh, the command has not launched any investigation into the issue and has no records of such a case being reported to them.

In a statement, Adeh said, “The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it.” She further added, “The individual in question should be contacted to clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”

The controversy began when Otse, in a video shared on Instagram last Friday, alleged that a total of ₦180 million had been stolen from the NGO’s account following an illegal transfer. He claimed that the funds had been hacked from the NGO’s website, leaving only ₦20 million in the account. According to Otse, they had traced the suspect responsible for the hack and arrested one individual.

He also explained, “I’ve not been myself these past few days. Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and ₦180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.” He went on to reveal that the account had been placed on PND (Post No Debit), and while ₦160 million had been diverted, ₦20 million remained. He added that they were planning to travel to Jos to recover the stolen money.

However, despite his claims, Otse’s statements have been met with considerable skepticism from the public, with some individuals questioning the authenticity and credibility of his account. Many have raised doubts about the legitimacy of his allegations, which have yet to be corroborated by official sources or law enforcement agencies.
