Fabian Blu, a talented singer and former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, has come forward with shocking revelations about his experience at the record label. In a recent interview, he disclosed distressing details about the struggles he faced while being a part of the label.

During a candid conversation with well-known media personality Chude Jideonwo, Fabian Blu opened up about the toxic environment he was exposed to after signing with Marlian Records in 2020. He claimed that he was introduced to drug use and was pressured into adapting to a lifestyle that did not align with his personal values.

Fabian Blu officially parted ways with the label in 2022, the same year that the late singer Mohbad also left. He stated that even after his contract ended, Marlian Records failed to pay him any royalties from his music. He recalled how he approached Naira Marley to demand his rightful earnings, only to be mocked when he mentioned taking legal action.

Beyond financial disputes, Fabian detailed the difficulties he endured, which included both verbal and physical abuse. He also accused the label of discriminating against him due to his tribe and religion. According to him, he was frequently called a “lazy artist” and was sidelined simply because he was neither Yoruba nor Muslim.

Fabian went on to describe the poor living conditions he had to endure while staying in the accommodation provided by the record label. He recounted an incident where he was forcefully removed from the studio after trying to seek support from his mother.

Speaking further, he stated: “I got introduced to drugs in Marlian Music. They were too gangster for me. I left the label the same month Mohbad left, and they spread rumors that I was mad.”

Fabian Blu’s revelations have added to the growing controversies surrounding Marlian Records, especially in light of past allegations made by other former signees. His testimony raises further concerns about the treatment of artists within the label and the toxic culture that some claim exists behind the scenes.
