Former Nigerian Idol winner, K-Peace, has come forward with shocking claims against the organizers of the reality show, alleging that he never received the promised ₦7.5 million cash prize and car, despite public announcements declaring otherwise. His revelation has sparked widespread discussions and raised concerns about the credibility of reality show prizes in Nigeria.
In an emotional interview, K-Peace recounted his struggles following his victory, revealing that he was left to fend for himself on the streets of Lagos with no financial support. Despite being declared a winner on national television, he stated that he never saw a single naira from the supposed winnings.
According to him, every time he inquired about the promised cash prize and car, the organizers gave vague responses, claiming they were still working on it. However, months passed, and nothing materialized.
Sharing his ordeal, he said:
“I came out from the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account. I attended interviews on an empty stomach. We walked all over Lagos without food in my belly.”
He went on to explain how he repeatedly asked about the status of his prize, but his concerns were always brushed aside.
“They announced ₦7.5 million as the grand prize, but as time passed, I kept asking when the money would be credited and when I’d get the car. They kept pushing it forward.”
“They claimed they were still branding the car. They announced on national TV that I won ₦7.5 million and a car, and that I was supposed to have a two-week trip to Dubai. Meanwhile, I was going through hell.”
