Popular OAP, Dotun has shared a heartfelt note with renowned comedian, AY Makun, expressing his support after AY debunked an AI-generated video that portrayed him and May Edochie in a compromising situation. Dotun emphasized that AY did nothing wrong in addressing the situation and defended him from any unfair judgment.
It should be recalled that a viral video surfaced recently, featuring comedian AY Makun and Yul Edochie’s estranged wife, May Edochie, sparking a wave of speculation online. The video quickly gained traction and spread on social media, leading AY to make a public statement clarifying that the video was manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI), asserting that nothing inappropriate occurred between him and May.
In response to this clarification, OAP Dotun took to his platform to publicly remind AY that he had done nothing wrong, despite the misleading video. Dotun praised AY for his years of creative excellence and offered his support, encouraging him to stay strong amidst the online buzz. He explained that both AY and May Edochie, who are both separated from their respective spouses, have the right to move forward and seek happiness in their lives.
Dotun’s message read as follows: "Open note to AY: you are an amazing creative with so many years of experience & grace. Sometimes; easy to judge & maybe not perfect in a few ways but are we all? No! I need you to know one thing, yes it’s AI and it should not be encouraged for this purpose BUT let me be honest, you are not doing anything wrong."
He continued, "There is a need to set the record straight to avoid it being used for the wrong reasons but there is so much more to you as a human being besides these scandals. You are 'AY' the Legend." Dotun urged AY to always remind others of his true value, stating, "This is a lot sometimes especially on how it can be perceived but Oga AY; know this now, you have not done anything wrong."
Dotun further reassured AY, adding, "You are both separated and both of your partners have allegedly moved on publicly. You and May have the right to do the same. This is 2025 & everyone deserves to be happy. In as much as this is not what it seems, you have both done nothing wrong." He concluded with, "You an amazing creative and that’s what it will be till thy kingdom come. Iree o!"
