Renowned musician, Davido, reflected on his recent Grammy loss, expressing pride in the nomination itself. Despite falling short in all three categories at the 66th Grammy Awards, the Afrobeats sensation emphasized the significance of being recognized at such a prestigious event.
In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, Davido shared the sentiments conveyed by his father, Deji Adeleke. According to the artist, his father reassured him that, regardless of the outcome, he remains a legend in the eyes of his family.
During the interview, Davido expressed his gratitude for the journey, stating, “Being nominated alone is enough to make me proud of myself. I just want my song to be heard on the radio once or twice in the beginning, but for it to transcend to this is just amazing and God’s doing.”
He went on to recount a recent conversation with his father, quoting him as saying, “Son no matter what happens, you are still a legend.” Davido acknowledged his father's unwavering support, revealing, “So yeah, he is a big fan.”
