Social Media influencer, Daniel Regha, has taken a strong stance against individuals who continue to support and listen to the music of controversial Nigerian artist, Naira Marley, despite the serious allegations levied against him.
This backlash stems from recent accusations made by former Marlian Record signee, Lil Smart, who publicly claimed that Naira Marley and fellow musician Zinoleesky abducted and assaulted him. The ex-Marlian dancer took to his social media platforms to recount the alleged ordeal, drawing widespread attention to the controversy.
Daniel Regha, known for his outspoken nature on social issues, did not hold back in his criticism. Posting on his verified handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Regha condemned the continued patronage of Naira Marley’s music, calling it a reflection of societal complacency. He also directed part of the blame towards the Nigerian Police for their perceived inaction on such allegations.
He remarked, “Naira Marley still having an audience, or listening ears after all he’s been accused of, goes to show our level of unseriousness as a people. In all this, I blame the Nigeria Police.”
Regha’s post has sparked significant online debate, with opinions divided among fans and critics alike regarding the accountability of artists and their supporters in light of such allegations.
