Popular Nigerian actor, Daniel Etim-Effiong, sheds light on why more male actors turn to online platforms seeking financial aid compared to their female counterparts. During an episode of the Bad and Boujee podcast hosted by TolaniBaj and Moet Abebe, Etim-Effiong addresses the trend of male actors resorting to crowdfunding for various needs, including health issues.
Using himself as an example, he explained that if he finished a job and got paid, his first thought is to take care of his family and sustain the home and settle outstanding bills.
However for some women, once they get paid, the money is for themselves alone to enjoy and spend, which helps them in saving more.
He also narrates how women are beautiful creatures which leaves them open to receiving gifts and other financial rewards from men who find their beauty alluring.
Men on the other hand are left to provide for themselves all the times so when they reach a breaking point, they reach out to the public for help instead.
Daniel Etim-Effiong states expressly that women hardly solve men’s issues so most men know not to ask them for help.
