A community note has thoroughly dismissed VeryDarkMan’s claim that his NGO website was hacked, resulting in the alleged theft of ₦180 million out of ₦200 million in donations, labeling it as false and baseless.
The note provided clarity on the matter, stating that even if the website had been compromised, such an event would not lead to any funds being stolen, as websites do not store or process actual payments in the described manner.
The clarification was made as a community note attached to a viral post featuring a video of VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, where he alleged the hacking incident had resulted in the theft of ₦180 million from his NGO’s donations account.
In the video, the popular online personality detailed his account of the supposed hacking incident, claiming that his website had been breached, causing the massive loss of funds. The allegations, however, quickly drew skepticism and triggered heated debates on social media platforms.
Prominent public figures, as well as many social media users, dismissed the allegations outright. Speculations arose that the missing funds might have been used for purposes other than what had been disclosed by the influencer, further intensifying the controversy.
Despite the ongoing uproar, VeryDarkMan has yet to provide any substantial update or present evidence to substantiate his claims. The absence of corroborative proof has fueled doubts among the public.
The community note on Twitter categorically refuted the claim, offering an explanation for why such allegations could not hold water. The note highlighted that hacking a website would not result in any monetary loss from the actual bank account where donations are deposited.
The statement issued in the community note reads as follows:
“The website of VDM (Martins Vincent Otse) NGO, mvoi4all.com, does not store or process payments, so hacking it (if this claim is true) WILL NOT cause any money to go missing from the Zenith Bank account (1313679008) where donations are received.”
“THIS CLAIM IS FALSE.”

The dismissal of the claim has sparked further reactions across social media, with users demanding transparency and accountability from VeryDarkMan. Many have called for the influencer to present evidence supporting his allegations or take responsibility for the funds in question.
As the story continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether VeryDarkMan will address the concerns raised by the public and provide a resolution to the growing controversy surrounding the alleged theft of NGO funds.
