Nollywood actress, Chika Ike, has taken to social media to address the ongoing rumors about her welcoming a child with billionaire politician, Ned Nwoko, and potentially becoming his seventh wife. The rumors began when controversial faceless blogger, Gistlover, made an allegation that the actress had recently given birth to a child fathered by Ned Nwoko. This was fueled further by her recent release of baby bump photos, which seemed to confirm the speculation.
In the midst of the buzz, Ned Nwoko took to Instagram to dismiss the claims, while his wife, Regina Daniels, appeared unfazed by the whole situation, continuing to post on social media with no signs of concern. Despite the dismissal from Ned and Regina, the rumors continued to swirl, prompting Chika Ike to finally respond publicly.
In a recent Instagram post, Chika Ike set the record straight by clarifying that Ned Nwoko is not the father of her child. She also expressed that she is not open to the idea of polygamy, making it clear that she is not interested in becoming anyone’s seventh wife.
Chika further emphasized that she is unbothered by the rumors and stated that they were merely a challenge to her career. She explained how her privacy is very important to her and that she has always valued keeping her personal life out of the public eye. She said that while she had been pregnant for several months, no one knew about it until she chose to announce it herself. She questioned how anyone could assume to know the father of her child or anything about her life, calling the speculation laughable and clueless.
In her post, Chika wrote, "There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years but I always treated them like what they are, RUMOURS THAT NEEDED NO RESPONSE. But this is different, this is about my CHILD. You all do not know anything about me! Because you CAN’T! Except I choose to disclose. Yes, I’m that PRIVATE." She also made it clear that she is not interested in polygamy, as she added, "Ned isn’t the Father of my child and whoever name you might come up with later with your guessing games and like I’ve said before I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife! Polygamy isn’t for me."
Chika concluded her message by saying that the rumors do not affect her, as she understands that such false news is part of the public spotlight she is in. She explained that the only reason she responded was because the rumors were about her child. She reminded her followers that her privacy brings her peace, and no one can disturb her peace. Finally, she shared that she is enjoying the joy and peace of her pregnancy, which is her focus at this moment.
