Grammy award-winning artist, Burna Boy, has addressed the backlash following the arrest of Speed Darlington. The rapper was recently released on bail after spending three weeks in detention, which sparked mixed reactions from fans and the public. The controversy gained more attention after the renowned lawyer, Stanley Alieke, announced the rapper's release on his Instagram page, leading to further discussion online.
As reported earlier by Gistreel, Speed Darlington was arrested during a performance in Owerri, Imo State, and was later granted bail. Fans and followers were excited to hear about his release, and the news sparked a series of reactions, including one from Burna Boy, who took to his own Instagram to share his thoughts on the situation.
In his post, Burna Boy reflected on the public’s tendency to voice opinions without consequences, contrasting this with the severe backlash he faces whenever he chooses to react. He expressed his frustration, stating that while people are free to speak without accountability, his responses seem to be met with extreme reactions, which he likened to a ‘nuclear disaster.’ He went on to imply that many individuals are fortunate he has a lot to lose now, otherwise, there would be much more severe consequences for their actions.
Burna Boy’s post reads: “When they talk, nobody cares, but when I react, it’s a Nuclear disaster. Y’all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now. Walahi a lot of you would not be here no more. Anyway, make I just go buy another thing relax.”
