Popular Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chief Priest [/b]has responded to Burna Boy after the Grammy-winning artist referred to him as ‘Owerri Rick Ross’ in an online post. The online drama began when Burna Boy, also known as the Odogwu crooner, made a post on his social media that many believed was targeted at Cubana Chief Priest, who is a well-known friend of Nigerian singer Davido.
In Burna Boy’s post, he referred to Cubana Chief Priest as ‘Owerri Rick Ross,’ making a reference to his association with Owerri and comparing him to the famous rapper, Rick Ross. He also made a reference to Cubana Chief Priest’s connection with someone known as ‘Omo Igbo’ in Atlanta and hinted that Cubana Chief Priest could be the next in line to hold a prominent position in the Nigerian music and social scene. The post read, “No forget say u be Azaman o And dem don gbe your plug wey him name na ‘Omo Igbo’ for ATL and na u be next #OwerriRickyrozay.”
Cubana Chief Priest, not one to shy away from a clash, responded to Burna Boy’s post with his own series of posts. He fired back by calling Burna Boy ‘pained’ and suggested that the Grammy award that Burna Boy won might have been influenced by his association with music mogul Diddy. Cubana Chief Priest’s response read, “Diddy oil the fastest way to PTSD. you never see anything, you and your bend down collect Grammy.” His words referenced how he felt Burna Boy’s success was due to the support of others and not entirely his own effort.
Further fueling the back-and-forth, Cubana Chief Priest continued with another post stating, “The Ferrari’s. The London jewelers debt. I’m coming. I have long waited for this moment. Osubrileeee oooo,” teasing Burna Boy with references to his luxury purchases and debts, implying that he would soon expose more of the situation. This ongoing exchange between the two celebrities is taking the internet by storm, and fans have been quick to react to the drama.
