In a detailed statement posted on his official Facebook page, Olasupo disclosed that he received an official letter from INTERPOL on December 30, 2024. The letter mandated his appearance at the INTERPOL headquarters located at Force Headquarters, Shehu Shagari Way, Garki, Abuja, at exactly 11:00 AM for further investigation into the matter.

Olasupo further explained that the date of his appearance had been rescheduled to Monday, January 13, 2025, following consultations with legal counsel. He stated that the letter was delivered to him through his employer, who immediately engaged their legal team to respond on his behalf. Barrister Yomi Ogunlola, representing Olasupo, facilitated the adjustment of the appearance date to allow adequate preparation.

Peter Olasupo Shares His Thoughts on the Allegations and INTERPOL Summons

The broadcaster provided additional context in his statement, expressing both his confusion and his commitment to cooperating with the investigation. He wrote, “I recently received a letter with the headline *Investigation Activities/Invitation Letter* from the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), notifying me of an ongoing investigation concerning allegations of *Criminal Defamation and Cyberstalking* in which I have been implicated. The letter requested that I report to INTERPOL Headquarters at Force Headquarters, Shehu Shagari Way, Garki, Abuja, on Monday, 30th December 2024, at 11:00 AM for further investigation.

“Upon receiving the letter via my boss, my employer immediately sought legal assistance. Our lawyer, Barrister Yomi Ogunlola, responded to the invitation on my behalf, resulting in a new appearance date of Monday, 13th January 2025.”

Olasupo also expressed his bewilderment regarding the allegations, stating, “I have many unanswered questions: Who reported me to INTERPOL? Why involve INTERPOL for this matter? Who is accusing who of defamation or cyberstalking? My Lord, I maintain my innocence in all of this.”

Continuing, he added, “While I currently do not have full details of the allegations, I am ready to present myself at their office and fully cooperate with INTERPOL's investigation. However, I am curious—why is my appearance required at the Abuja office? Couldn’t this be handled at the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Oyo State Command, Eleyele, Ibadan, or even their Lagos office, which is more accessible by train?

“Furthermore, considering the expenses involved, wouldn’t it be fair for INTERPOL to provide travel allowances to facilitate this process? Will they send a police helicopter to transport me? Traveling by air has become expensive, and traveling by road has its risks. Despite these challenges, I will comply with the summons and ensure I do what is required.”

Olasupo assured his followers that this situation would not deter him from his principles or affect his professional standards. He stated, “To my fans, please rest assured that this development will not diminish my dedication to speaking the truth to those in power. I remain steadfast in my professionalism and commitment to doing the right thing.”

When contacted by DailyPost on Sunday night, Olasupo confirmed the authenticity of the report, saying, “Good evening Sir. Yes, it’s true oo.”

The broadcaster’s interaction with INTERPOL has sparked significant public curiosity. Many Nigerians have taken to social media and other platforms to discuss the implications of the allegations, with anticipation building as Olasupo prepares to appear for questioning. The outcome of the investigation and its potential impact on Olasupo’s career and reputation remain to be seen.
