[p]Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has chosen to remain silent on the matter of his feud with fellow comedian, AY Makun. AY had previously claimed that their 17-year rivalry began over a debt of N30,000. In an interview, AY stated that at the beginning of his career, Basketmouth frequently contacted him to perform at events. He claimed that the feud began after he attended an event where organizers were expecting Basketmouth to perform, but he was asked to fill in instead. AY stated that he had not been paid for the performance, and when he contacted Basketmouth, he confirmed that the organizers had not paid him. However, when AY called the organizers, he was told that payment had already been made. During a live comedy performance, Basketmouth declined to comment on the issue, stating that he did not want to give an official statement or have AY interpret his words as such. He also stated that he did not want AY to ever receive an answer from him regarding the matter.
