According to a recent interview with NewsLive Prime, Asake explained that the Yoruba language is very important to him and that he mostly sings in the language because a lot of people who listen to his songs understand it.

He also added that for him, music goes beyond the lyrics, and it is the feeling it evokes that matters.
He said:
“Yoruba is so important to me. To me the away I understand music is that it is a feeling.”
