Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, is overwhelmed with gratitude as a kind-hearted individual gifts his parents a house.
This heartfelt gesture comes amidst Tunde's recent attempt to break the Guinness world record for the longest chess marathon in New York.
Although the official results are yet to be announced, there's widespread belief that he's well on his way to becoming a world record holder.
The act of generosity towards Tunde's parents is seen as a token of appreciation for his commendable efforts in supporting children from impoverished backgrounds, particularly those in the slums.
Overwhelmed with joy, Tunde took to his Twitter account to express his deep appreciation for the remarkable gift.
Despite initial reservations from his father about his passion for chess, Tunde acknowledges the unwavering support he received from both his parents over the years. His mother, in particular, has been a pillar of strength and emotional support throughout his journey.
In Tunde’s heartfelt words;
“Someone gifted my parents a new house today. It’s the single greatest thing anyone will ever do for me in this lifetime. Thank youMy mother worked as a cleaner in the same school I attended so I could get an education while my dad worked as a Danfo driver/bus conductor so we could feed and survive.
My greatest joy in life is to be able to give them both the life they truly deserve❤️”
