Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, recently revealed in an interview with media personality Chude Jidenwo that she almost turned to prostitution out of desperation at a young age. She shared that she lost her father to death when she was just 12 years old, and the tragic event almost derailed her life. Omotola recounted that she learned to become emotionless, and nothing ever affected her anymore, no matter how hurtful it may be, since her father's death.
She expressed that the experience almost led her down a dark path, and it was only through sheer willpower and determination that she overcame her difficult situation. A video of the interview was also shared, where Omotola can be seen speaking about her past struggles.
Apart from discussing her personal experiences, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde also spoke about the level of suffering that the average Nigerian goes through in the country. The actress, who relocated to the United States with her family two years ago, expressed her deep frustration with the volume of needless suffering in Nigeria. She stated that Nigerians are too intelligent to be suffering the way they are and that she is bamboozled by some of the things Nigerians endure on a daily basis.
Omotola further emphasized that suffering is not something to be bragged about, and people should not have to suffer before basic needs are provided. She took to her Instagram story to express her frustration with the situation, highlighting that she believes Nigerians deserve better.
