Ossai Success took to his social media page to express his disappointment in the singer, stating that the timing of the proposal was inappropriate and legally problematic. He emphasized that 2Face could face up to five years in prison if he proceeds with the marriage before finalizing his divorce with Annie.

According to Ossai, under Nigerian law, specifically the Matrimonial Causes Act (MCA) 1990 and Section 47 of the Marriage Act 1990, an individual must ensure that their existing marriage is legally dissolved before entering into another one. Otherwise, such an action would be considered bigamy, a criminal offense under Section 370 of the Criminal Code Act (CCA) 1990, which carries a penalty of up to five years imprisonment.

In his post, Ossai Success pointed out that any marriage conducted while a previous one is still valid is legally null and void. He stressed that if 2Face proceeds with his marriage to Natasha while still married to Annie, his first wife has the legal right to file a formal complaint, which could lead to his prosecution for bigamy under Nigerian law.

He further questioned whether 2Face was aware of the legal consequences of his actions, stating:

“I am truly disappointed in 2Face, especially considering the timing of his proposal to Natasha. Watching the proposal video, I couldn’t help but wonder—does he fully understand the legal consequences of his actions?

“The reality is that 2Face cannot legally marry Natasha while still going through a divorce process with Annie. Doing so would be considered bigamy under Nigerian law, a criminal act punishable by up to five years in prison under Section 370 of the Criminal Code Act (CCA) 1990.

“The Nigerian legal system, through the Matrimonial Causes Act (MCA) 1990 and Section 47 of the Marriage Act 1990, clearly states that an individual must finalize their divorce before entering into another marriage. Any marriage contracted while a previous one still exists is automatically null and void.

“Should 2Face proceed with this unlawful marriage, Annie, as his first wife, can officially report the situation, leading to his prosecution and possible jail time.”
